Dream (‘Scream’ Finnemarka Pushkin x Nathani av Vargevass)

Dream (Scream Finnemarka Pushkin x Nathani av Vargevass) joined our team from our trip to meet Karsten and Evelyn from Vargevass Kennel, Sweden.

Dream is a young, long-legged energetic boy. He is very friendly. His background is 50% Vargevass being a descendant of famous Vargevass-leaders Nathan and Thor & Pamuk. The other half is Finnemarka-origin.

Dream was the wheel dog in our winning team Lappeenranta 2022 and received REK1-qualification. In the Finnish Sprint Championships race 2022 he was in our tem, when we became 4th in huskies and got REK3. In Vantaa 2022 he was also in our 4th in huskies team with REK2.

He is showing very promising leadership qualities.

Kun kävimme Vargevass-kennelissä 6.2022 astutusretkellä ja tapaamassa Karstenia ja Evelyniä, mukaan tuli ihana ja reipas nuori uros: Dream. Se on pitkäjalkainen ja hyvin lupaava rekikoira.

Dreamilla on taustassaan hienoja johtajakoiria hyvistä suvuista: Mm. Pamuk, Thor ja Nathan av Vargevass ja Finnemarka-taustaisia. Taustalta tulee myös amerikkalaista Northome-linjaa.

2022 kisasyksyllä tämä myös lupaavia johtajakykyjä näyttäv Dream sai REK1, REK2 ja REK3

Vetoava Noux

Vetoava Noux ‘Noux’ comes from our N-litter. His name is old Sami-language meaning ‘the Swan’. Noux is also the Swedish name for the place where we live - Nuuksio in Espoo.

Noux is superbly friendly young guy, who is very active. We are looking forward to next winter to see how he’ll be in harness. Very promising indeed.

Noux’s dad is our working champion FI KVA-REK Sainen Niba ‘Nimba’. His mother is our Vetoava Freija. Both are great leader dogs.

FI KVA-REK Vetoava Muotka

Muotka is a very friendly guy from our M-litter. Her mom is our major leader dog Elegia and dad is our grand-old-man Moon Runs Cannonball Cannon.

He is a strong boy and is running well and eagerly in the harness. He is our top leader dog and the youngest of our dogs, who has become Finnish Working Dog Champion.

Muotka on ystävällinen poika M-pentueestamme. Sen äiti on huippujohtajamme Elegia ja isänä on tosi hyviä jälkeläisiä jättänyt Moon Runs Cannonball Cannon.

Muotka on voimakas ja innokas poika, josta tuli nuorimpana koiristamme koskaa Suomen Käyttövalio.

Vetoava Loki

Loki’s dad is Arctic Soul Forstal’s Legend ‘Pampula’, who is Mari Pajaskoski’s leader dog, having an interesting racing blood Forstal’s in his veins.

His mom is our well-established leader Beata.

We have also Loki’s sister Likta in our team. Both are really promising sled dogs.

Loki has a friendly and obediant character.

Likta comes from our L-litter and from well-running racing parents. Her dad is Arctic Soul Forstal’s Legend ‘Pampula’, who is Mari Pajaskoski’s leader dog and her mom is our excellent leader Beata.

We have also Likta’s brother Loki in our team. Both are really promising sled dogs.

Likta is really friendly: She wants to be hugged and patted. She is a promising sled dog.

Kaje comes from our K-litter, being the daughter of our awesome leaders FI KVA FI MVA Kasakan Jack Sparrow ‘Nappi’ and Vetoava Freija. We have also Kaje’s brother Kiuta in our team.

She is a bit smaller than an average female. She likes to run and has a huge appetite:) She is very friendly.

Kiuta comes from our K-litter, being the son of our awesome leaders FI KVA-REK FI MVA Kasakan Jack Sparrow ‘Nappi’ and Vetoava Freija.

He is a nicely structured dog, who wants to run and play with her sister Kaje. He drinks and eats well and has a good drive in harness.

Kiuta has scored top results in working dog test. 2023 he was in our racing team, becoming 2nd in a sprint race and also won his 3rd SERTI in a dog show. He became Finnish Show Champion in 2023.

Sysilouhen Nonna ‘Nonna’

Nonna is a daughter of our Nappi and of Vetoava Birta, who is the sister of our Vetoava Beata. We have also her sister Astrid in our team.

Nonna is a bit smaller than average female. She is always willing to lead the team in our Arctic Expedition events with her sister.She has a strong appetite like her sister and she runs well in the lead with her sister.

Nonna on kaksoisvaliomme Napin ja kasvattimme Vetoava Birtan tytär. Meillä on tiimissämme Birtan sisko Beata ja Nonna sisko Astrid. Eli vetohalut ovat kunnossa.

Nonna on vähän keskikokoista tyttöä pienikokoisempi, mutta ei se menoa haittaa. Se juoksee siskonsa kanssa mielellään johdossa ja syö hyvin.

Astrid is the daughter of our Nappi and of Vetoava Birta, who is the sister of our Vetoava Beata. So she has excellent working and racing blood in her veins.

Astrid is a beatiful and strong female, who likes to run in the lead in Arctic Expedition events. She has shown open field leadership qualities and has a strong appetite.

Astrid on omna koiramme kaksoisvalion Nappi ja kasvattimme Vetoava Birtan jälkeläinen. Johtajakoiramme Vetoava Beata on Birtan sisko. Niinpä Astridin vetoasiat ovat kunnossa.

Astrid on nätti tyttö. Se on melko nuoresta iästään huolimatta erinomainen johtajakoira, joka toimii myös vaikeassa ‘avoimen kentän johtajan pestissä’.

Jiella comes from our J-litter end of March 2019. She is the beauty queen of the pact, with a really friendly character. Her parents are our working dog champion FIN KVA Kasakan Jack Sparrow ‘Nappi’ and one of our racing leaders Moon Runs Tiara ‘Tiara’.

Jiella loves to get your pats and kisses. Being 100% working dog Siberian, she somewhat looks as our ‘Disney Husky’ :)

In the Siberian Husky Club of Finland speciality show 2019, Jiella was the best female puppy of the show:) In Ristiina dog show in 2020 she received EH (Very Good).

Vetoava Jiekna ‘Jiekna’

Jiekna was born in our J-litter end of March 2019. He was the only white puppy and won our hearts very quickly. His parents are our working dog champion FIN KVA Kasakan Jack Sparrow ‘Nappi’ and one of our racing leaders Moon Runs Tiara ‘Tiara’.

Jiekna is a friendly dog. He is one of the few dogs in the team, who doesn’t seem to be much interested in wild animals. This allows us to keep him quite often unleashed.

Inui comes from our I-litter from strong sled dog parents Moon Runs Cannonball ‘Cannon’ x Vetoava Cinnamon ‘Sinna’.

From the beginning she is a girl, who has shown promising leadership qualities. Like her mom and her dad, she just wants to go with all the lines tight. She is currently our major team leaders. Inui achieved Finnish Working Dog Champion - title during fall 2022, when only three years old:)

She is very friendly in nature, eats and drinks well (Comes to his dad, who has one of the biggest appetites of them all - at least the fastest appetite...)

From dog shows she has received EH (Very Good).

Vetoava Irgad ‘Irgad’

Irgad was born in our I-litter early 2019 from our nice-running parents Moon Runs Cannonball ‘Cannon’ x Vetoava Cinnamon ‘Sinna’.

Irgad is definitely our strongest and biggest male and that is why we most often trust him as our hardworking wheel dog. He keeps the line tight all the time and just wants to pull. Irgad has a strong character and does not want to be left as the bottommost dog in the pact hierarchy. He behaves nicely with everybody, humans or dogs and has a big, lovable, often licking big tongue:)

Irgad syntyi reippaaseen I-pentueeseemme 2019 alussa. Yhdistemä Moon Runs Cannonball ‘Cannon’ x Vetoava Cinnamon ‘Sinna’.

Irgad on pelkkää muskelia: Superpyöräkoira, joka suunnilleen yksinään vetäisi koko valjakon. Se pitää aina liinat kireinä, koska sillä on niin vetäminen verissä. Se on uskomattoman ystävällinen. Jos on omasta suihkusta aikaa, voi käydä Irgadin luona ja sen ‘nuolemissuihku’ ei jätä ketään kylmäksi. - Irgad on korkea ja iso jässikkä.

Vetoava Hoavdi ‘Havdi’

Havdi comes from our H-litter - descending from our working dog champion FIN KVA FI MVA Kasakan Jack Sparrow ‘Nappi’ and our strong leader Vetoava Cinnamon ‘Sinna’.

Havdi is a strong big boy, who has inherited the willigness to run from his parents. Given his strength, he has often helped us as a wheel dog, but he can run also as the leader. He has the top qualification REK1 in a sled dog speed competion. In the autumn of 2021 he became the 2nd best dog in YLE class in Finnish Working Dog test with 57/60p

Havdi has a friendly character.

FI KVA-REK Vetoava Gamot ‘Gamot’

Gamot was born late 2017 from Cannon x Neva. He looks and works very much like his dad, who has been competing in several long distance dog sled races. Gamot is a very friendly guy, who doesn’t have any hunter instinct, thus we can keep him quite often off the leash. He gets excited in the beginning (like his dad) and is an awesome puller (like his dad). Quite often we have put him as our lead dog. Gamot has twice the best results REK1 in sled dog speed competition and SA ERI from a dog show (Excellent).

He became Finnish Working Dog Champion FI KVA-REK in the autumn of 2021.

Gamot syntyi 2017 hyville johtajkoirillemme Cannon x Neva. Se on hyvin paljon isänsä Cannonin oloinen ja näköinen - täynnä muskelia. Isä on juossut paljon pitkän matkan kisoja. Gamot on hyvin ystävällinen. Sen erikoispiirteenä on, että se on yksi niistä harvoista koiristamme, joilla ei ole riistaviettiä. Niimpä kävelyretkillämme Gamot juoksentelee yleensä lähellämme. Se on aika innostunut ennen lähtöä (kuten isänsä) ja vetää ihan hullun lailla (kuten isänsä). Unohtamatta että se syö superreippaasti (kuten isänsä).

Gamot on erinomainen johtajakoira, mistä osoituksensa se sai syksyllä 2021 Suomen Käyttövalion arvonimen. Sillä on paras tulos REK1 rekikoirien kilpailukokeesta ja JOH1 55p/60p rekikoirien käyttökokeesta. Näyttelystä sillä ERInomainen ja SA - sertin arvoinen.

FI KVA-REK Sainen Niba ‘Nimba’

Nimba came to our team from Kennel Sainen as a puppy in late 2017. Nimba is a fast young male, who wants to be in the lead. He is one of our main leaders 2018-2020. In the Kuusamo mid-distance race 2019 in 12-dog-class (2 x 42km) he was in the lead together with Nappi the whole time.

Nimba has a nice and friendly character. He is the grandson of Kennel Sainen’s major leader Sainen Ylläs, thus has running truly in his veins. He has scored top points both in the speed test (REK1) and in the Finnish sled dog working test (REKÄ). In the fall 2021 Nimba became a Finnish Working Dog Champion (FI KVA).

Nimba tuli pentuna meille Sainen kennelistä. Tämä sanakari on innokas menijä, joka on 2018-2021 yksi pääjohtajistamme. Mm. Kuusamo MD:llä 2019 johti teamia tuon 2 x 42km kisan.

Nimba pitää kovasti ihmisistä. Sillä on vetäminen verissä ja rekikoirakäyttäyminen hallussa. Käyttökokeesta Nimballa on paras johtajatulos JOH1 57/60 pistettä. Kisoista on tuloksena REK1. Syksyllä 2021 Nimbasta tuli Suomen käyttövalio FI KVA-REK.

Fiona is our Freija’s sister, from our excellent F-litter. She is an average size female, who - as her sister - wants to run as a leader. She has an energetic character and just wants to go.

Ealas was born early 2017 to a fine litter from racing parents of Icesmile’s Kirima x Moon Runs Tiara. Ealas has very good genes and runs any position in a team. He has the best grade REK1 * 2 from sled dog competitions. Ealas was in our team in European Championships 2018.

Ealas is really friendly by nature. He is always there to ask for some patting (when he is not in the lead of the puppy team searching for interesting things to sniff and to explore in the nearby woods, of course) :)

Ealas on tosi ystävällinen ja aina tulee rapsutuksia hakemaan (Niin -- paitsi silloin kun se johtaa pentulaumaa lähimetsän seikkailussa, jossa etsitään mitä mielenkiintoisempia hajuja, uusia varpuja, kiinnostavia kannonkappaleita ja outoja metsän koloja :) )

Ealas juoksee kaikkia valjakon paikkoja ja on ystävällinen. Sillä on REK1 *2 ja se oli valjakossamme EM-kisoissa 2018.

Elegia is really hardworking action lady, who together with her brother Ealas and sister Mette, come from fine parents of Icesmile’s Kirima ‘Kiri’ and Moon Runs Tiara ‘Tiara’. She has a friendly personality and she never quits running. From 2019 onwards she has been our major leader. She became Finnish Working Dog Champion in 2022. Elegia eats and drinks well and has healthy eyes.

Elegia works well in our sled dog safaris and really likes the pats of our visitors.

Nappi joined our team during fall 2016. He is a bit highter than medium-sized youn male and comes with an interesting LD-racing pedigree joining Swedish, Finnish and American lines: His dad Nordvikens Tigeröga is World Champion in dog sledding from 2015 and many of his nearby ancestors have run Finnmarksløpet, Pasvik Trail, Eastpoint Open or even Iditarod and Yukon Quest. - From the beginning we fell in love with his truly friendly and modest character. His trot and gallop are beatiful to watch. He has got pulling in his veins: He was part of the winning team to win the best Siberian husky team-price in the Finnish dryland sprint Champtionships 2016.

Nappi tuli joukkoomme syksyllä 2016. Nappi on hieman keskikokoista urosta suurempi erittäin ystävällinen ja vaatimatonkin nuori poika. Napin kaunista ravia ja laukkaa on hienoa katsella. Se on hieno vetäjä ja osallistuikin omalla panoksellaan Jämin sulanmaan SM-kisoihin 2016, joista 8-tiimimme voiti parhan siperianhusky-valjakon palkinnon. Napin lähisukulaisissa yhdistyvät mielenkiintoisella tavalla Ruotsin menestyneimpiä MD ja LD-koiria (mm. isä Nordvikens Tigeröga, MM 2015, isoisä Fenrisulven Faste), USAlaista Yukon Questin ja Iditarodin juossutta Manitou-linjaa ja suomalaisia pitkänmatkan kisakoiria (isä Pasi Ollikaisen Taiga Quest Cheetah, jolla myös hieno Polar Speed-tausta).

Moon Runs Tiara ‘Tiara’

Tiara joined the team in the summer of 2016. She is a cute’n social leader dog, who really wants to run! -She has a fine Vargevass background and she has been running in Michael Shelkovin’s team many internationl middle- and long distance races in Sweden, Norway and Russia. With Tiara in the lead, our team won the best Siberian husky team in 8-dog class -trophy in the Finnish Sprint championships 2016.

Tiara on kisavaljakkomme nopeaa vauhtia pitävä kisajohtaja, joka tuli kesällä 2016 vahvistamaan tiimiä Michael Shelkovinin toisen kisatiimin kärjestä. Tiara on juossut useita keskipitkän ja pitkän matkan kansainvälisiä koiravaljakkokilpailuita johdossa. - Tultuaan meille Tiara johdatti teamimme voittamaan parhaan Siperianhusky-valjakon tittelin Jämin SM-kisoissa 2016 8-koiran luokassa.

A great long-distance male Siberian Husky Moon Runs Cannonball ‘Cannon’ joined our team in the beginning of summer 2016. He is bred by Kennel Moon Runs, Sweden, and has run succesfully several long distance races in Michael Shelkovin’s team.

Moon Runs Cannonball ‘Cannon’ - komea useiden kansainvälisten pitkänmatkan rekikioirakisojen konkari tuli vahvistamaan tiimiä kesän 2016 alussa.

Vetoava Cinnamon ‘Sinna’ is a good sized dog and one of our trustworthy leaders. She comes from our C-litter from our own leader pair Ava and Kiri.

Sinna is the clear boss lady of our pact and one of our may Finnish Working Dog Champions. (FI KVA-REK)

Sinna is independent and very strong. She is superbly friendly towards people and enjoys patting a lot. She has 1st grade qualifications ie 2 x REK1 in sled dog speed competitions and JOH1 in leadership test.

Vetoava Cinnamon ‘Sinna’ on reilunkokoinen johtajakoiramme. Sinnan taustalla on omat johtajamme Ava ja Kiri. Sinna on luonteeltaan ystävällinen ja itsenäinen. Se tykkää rapsutuksista ja haleista paljon. Sinnasta tuli Suomen Käyttövalio 2023.

Vetoava Beata ‘Beata’

Beata is one of our leader dogs. She is ‘our princess’ and our race leader, who lead the team to become the best husky-team in Finnish Championships 8-dog-class, fall 2016. She has a JOH2 leader dog qualification and so far one Certifcate from a dog show. Beata is very friendly and runs really well in lead. She has a fine pedigree. Beata is a bit smaller than average Siberian female.

Beata ‘Prinsessa’ on meidän johtajakoiriamme Vetoava B-pentueesta. Beata juoksee erittäin hyvin johdossa, mm. Jämi SM-2016 paras siperinhuskyvaljakko. Se on ystävällinen ja hyvärakenteinen ja voitti ensimmäisen SERTinsä koiranäyttelyssä 6.2016 ja käyttökokeesta JOH2 10.2016. Beata on kooltaan hieman keskikokoista narttua pienempi.

Vetoava Ahkida ‘Kiida’ is a very friendly and obedient Siberian husky female. She works as one of our leaders, pulls strongly and has a very fine pedigree. She is the first puppy born to our kennel :)

Kiida (Vetoava Ahkida) on erittäin ystävällinen, kuuliainen ja tottelevainen rekikoiratyttö, jolla on hyvä vetopää ja mahtava rekikoiratausta. Kiida rakastaa ihmisiä yli kaiken ja jakaa paljon suukkoja. Kiida menee hyvin valjakon johdossa. Se on Vetoava-kennelin ensimmäinen pentu:)

Arctic Soul Sibir Uhta ‘Uhta’ is our strong workhorse. He is always ready for pulling, is very friendly to the people and licks guests with her big tongue. She is one the favorites of the tourists visiting us. Uhta has a fine dog sled racing pedigree. Her name is according to a city in Siberia. Uhta is strong and bigger than average female.

Uhta on todellinen työjuhta, joka menee parhaiten pyöräkoirana. Se on tosi ystävällinen - ja kun saa yhtäkkiä jostain märän nuolaisun, se on useimmiten Uhtalta. Uhta on matkailijoittemme suosikki, jolla on mahtava rekikoiratausta. Uhtan nimi tulee siperialaisesta kaupungista. Uhta on normaalia isokokoisempi narttu.

Arctic Soul Top Leader ‘Gaissa’ is the dogs, who is loved most by the visitors. She loves people and patting. She pulls quite hard, and is quite light structured. She knows her place in the team.

Arctic Soul Top Leader ‘Gaissa’ pitää hurjasti rapsuttelusta ja monet vieraat tykästyvät siihen. Eikä syyttä, sillä Gaissa vetää iloisesti, vaikka on hieman kevyempirakenteinen. Gaissa osaa pitää puoliaan koiratiimissä.

Icesmile’s Kirima ‘Kiri’

Kiri (Icesmile’s Kirima) is a fine Siberian husky male, with a nice character. He is our leader dog, who is very fast and keeps the pace well. He has a friendly character and often welcomes the visitor with his friendly personal welcome sound. With Kiri in the lead we have had nice results, for example 3rd in DR4 Alma Off Snow 2014 and 7th husky sled in the Finnish dryland championships 2014, the best points of 58/60 in Tuusula Working Dog Competition 2016.

Kefeus Damrod Balrog ‘Kuru’ is one of our first dogs. He is the definite alfa-male of the pact. He is very friendly and keeps with his quiet but decisive authority the packt in peace. We have competed a lot with Kuru. Kuru is strong and big and runs well as an open field leader. We also have Kuru’s sister Ava in our team.

Arctic Soul Hera ‘Neva’ - our trustworthy leader dog: She is well motivated to run as a fearless leader. Neva has a happy and friendly character: She listenes and understand well and is obedient. - When harnessed, her drive to run is awesome: Without a single temptation to sniff around, she just wants to press forward.

Her drive and speed have won her dog team several trophies. Her racing ancestors probably did give her ‘the right blood’. She also runs single dog roller well. Her hobbies include agility and obediance training.

When her master has taken her to the show ring, they have awarded her several ERIs (Excellent) and SA (Worth a certificate).

When she received her first babies 14.9.2014, she has proved to be a great mother: Always keeping her babies clean, not forgetting to lick even their faces :)

What more could one hope from a great dog and a friend?

Ava joined our family and dog team during spring 2013 and runs as our leader dog.

Ava-girl runs eagerly, keeps the speed and pace well, is obedient, listens well and is very trustworthy. She has run both long distance and sprint races and has done extremely well: 11 Rek1 -class sled-dog qualifications and Finnish Championship 2013 in 8-dog sprint, with Susanna Bürkland.

Ava gets along with dogs well. She likes people, patting and thanks often her friends with a wet kiss.

Many of Ava’s ancestors are known to be leader dogs, according to Jenni Hasa, Kefeus Kennel. They have also won several Finnish Sled Dog Championship titles.

Ava’s eyes have been checked to be healthy. In a Special Dog Show for Siberian Huskies of Finland she has received ‘Very good’ (EH) qualification.
